Idrologia Tribale (2023)

"With 'Idrologia Tribale', I wanted to create something a bit outside the box. 

    For a long time, I’d been itching to go back to naming my tracks in Italian, just like I used to years ago. Back then, I loved playing with words and finding those quirky contradictions to give each song its own identity.

    The central theme here is water—not just as a liquid, but as the ultimate symbol of fluidity. You’ll hear it in the arrangements: they are incredibly dynamic and constantly evolving, yet I managed to keep a solid rhythmic cohesion throughout the whole journey.

    Here’s the thing: when you listen to it, the album feels very direct, 'easy,' and upbeat. That’s intentional. However, I want to let you in on a secret—behind that effortless vibe lies a particularly interesting challenge, both technically and compositionally. 

    I spent a good amount of time researching every single frequency and selecting specific textures to ensure that the technical complexity never weighed down the listener's experience. 

    Making something so intricate sound so simple required obsessive care.

    I also loved playing with contrasts. 

Despite what the cover art might suggest, the tracks mostly carry a characteristic of positivity. 

    As for the title, it’s a tribute to my brother Massimo’s creativity. 

He has this particular gift for coming up with absurd phrases and surreal terms without even realizing it. That’s just who he is, and I love it!

    It turned out exactly as I had initially conceived it: fun, vibrant, and with a deep musical soul that I can't wait for you to discover."

"Con 'Idrologia Tribale' volevo fare qualcosa che rompesse un po' gli schemi classici. 

    Avevo questo forte desiderio di tornare a dare ai miei brani titoli in italiano, un po’ come facevo agli inizi: mi divertivo un mondo a giocare con le parole, cercando controsensi e incastri bizzarri per battezzare ogni traccia.

    Il cuore pulsante di questo disco è l'acqua, intesa però come simbolo assoluto di fluidità. Se lo ascoltate, noterete che le sonorità e gli arrangiamenti sono estremamente dinamici, quasi sfuggenti, eppure sono riuscito a mantenere una coesione ritmica che tiene tutto in piedi.

C’è un segreto dietro questo album: all’orecchio può sembrare un lavoro diretto, 'facile' e spensierato – ed è esattamente così che volevo che arrivasse a voi. Ma non fatevi ingannare dalla sua leggerezza! 

Dal punto di vista compositivo e tecnico, è stata una sfida particolarmente interessante. 

    Ho passato parecchio tempo a studiare ogni singola frequenza e a selezionare sonorità che fossero ricercate ma mai pesanti. 

    Creare quella sensazione di naturalezza partendo da una struttura tecnica così complessa ha richiesto una cura maniacale.

    Anche il contrasto è parte del gioco. 

Se guardate la cover, potreste aspettarvi qualcosa di cupo, ma i brani hanno per la maggior parte una caratteristica di positività. 

    E il titolo? È un omaggio a mio fratello Massimo. Lui ha questo dono particolare di inventare termini assurdi e frasi surreali senza nemmeno accorgersene; 'Idrologia Tribale' viene proprio dal suo mondo stravagante.

    È venuto fuori proprio come lo avevo inizialmente concepito: vivace, divertente, ma con un’anima tecnica profondissima."
